In this class we broke out of our regular routine for a bit and played with a piece of software called Musescore. Homework #10 was due, #11 is in process.
The MuseScore Lesson
Musescore Studio is a piece of free software for windows and mac that helps you make professional-looking music notation. I prepared a skills checklist that I think would function pretty well as a quickstart guide. In class we played around with MS for a little while and made one tune on it.
Remember that this software is always available on the Miguel 207 macs, which you are allowed to use any time there is no class in there. And, of course, if you have a personal computer you could install it.
Homework #10: Major and Minor Key Sigs, Scales
Worksheet #10 asks you to fill in the top of the circle of fifths for both major and minor keys, and then draw four of those scales on the staff. I think to get this right you'll need to draw on pp. 33-34 and 40-41 from the textbook.

Homework #11: Major and Minor Triads (+ Bass Clef)
OK, Worksheet #11 starts with some more bass clef practice, and then we make a few chords. Major and minor triads are covered on pp. 44-49 of our textbook.
This assignment is due Friday, Oct 30.
