| Class 5 | Tuesday, September 08 |
Welp this class did indeed get screwed up, much worse than expected. We did some new material on "the dot" which is covered in the textbook chapter 7 and this powerpoint, and of course I'll have to revisit this going forward, as we didn't have everybody.
There is no new homework, but I'll repost the assignments that are still in progress.
Homework #1: Survey
Our first homework assignment is actually an online survey where you tell me about your musical background, what you are into, and where you get your music. It's pretty short, five minutes at the most.
I set this one up so that it is due on Friday, Sept 11. Still waiting for two people to do it!
Assignment #4: The Piano Keys
Homework #4 asks you to name a bunch of piano keys, easy peasy. You can consult pp. 15-18 in our textbook for help on where the notes are, and pp. 21-23 on the sharps and flats.
This assignment is due today.
Worksheet #5: More treble practice, whole/half steps, and a scale
Homework #5 is a mixed bag. It starts with a little more treble clef practice in the manner of Level Up. Then it asks you to judge a few whole steps and half steps on the piano, which is covered on pp. 19-20 of our textbook. Last but not least it has you string a bunch of those steps together to make a major scale, as is explained on pp. 27-28.
This one is due on Friday, Sept 11.
