On this lovely day before break we got into another new topic, namely modulation. I gave you a few new pages in our textbook and we tried a few short analyses together.
Also, I gave out the guidelines for the final paper project, and Homework #10 was due (though I will take it late).
Final Paper Project
The Final Paper Guidelines tell you what we are looking for in our final project (5-6 pages including music examples and/or diagrams, any topic, theory-class style analysis, due in three installments).
The first duedate is Friday, March 28 for a one-paragraph proposal.
Worksheet #10: Phrases and Cadences in Some Schubert
Homework #10 asks you to label some cadences in a short piece by Schubert. This is covered on pp. 52-58 in the book. Looks massive but it should be quick, if you listen to the track below:
