MUSC 220 - Fundamentals of Music Theory

Hayden Hall, Room 105.
Tuesdays 12:30-1:45, Wednesdays 1:00-1:50, Fridays 12:30-1:45
Class 28Wednesday, October 30

On this date we practiced playing inversions at the piano, and I jumped ahead a little and showed you how to write your I-V-I progressions.

Worksheets #11 and #12 are in process.

"Real" Homework #11: More Roman Numerals

This one asks you to analyze roman numerals in major and then make chords in minor, which is a bit tricky due to the "raised leading tone" rule. Roman numerals are covered on pp. 58-59 of our theory text.

This worksheet is due on Fri, 11/1.

Worksheet #12: Inverted Triads

(Image is a young musician named Luca Fiore.)

Worksheet #12 asks you to make and recognize your triads in their "inverted" shapes. This is covered on pp. 60-62 of our theory text.

This worksheet is due on Tues, 11/5.
