Class 20Wednesday, February 28

This was our last big dictation session before mid-terms. I let everybody pick their own dictation codes off a sheet which was kind of interesting and fun.

The goal is to take the best 8 dictation scores from the beginning of the semester and average them together to get the midterm dictation grade. Most people have more than eight done, but if you are short we will have to figure something out.

Meanwhile, homework #11 is in the queue.

Worksheet #11: Intervals II

This worksheet asks you to recognize and spell my so-called "larger" intervals (perfect fifth through major seventh). You are encouraged to check your work by inverting them into small intervals. Large intervals are covered on pp. 54-57 in our theory textbook.

This one is due Tuesday, March 5.

The Reason I Like This Clip is Simple

It's because it proves that harpsichord music can be exciting, like regular music.
