Theory Quiz #1 is Friday, 2/9
OK, the big event for today is that I'll distribute The Quiz One Preview Document. Quiz #1 is next Friday, Feb 9.
Aside from that we will
- Review our circle of fifths
- Sing, clef, and rhythm
- Probably do some bass clef
We have two active homework assignments right now. Like I was saying in the previous blog entry, they say they are due today but they are really due Tues, 2/6.
Homework #5: Key Signatures and the Circle of Fifths
Worksheet Numero Cinco asks you to draw some key signatures and get familiar with the circle of fifths. This is covered in chapter 9 of our theory text. Honestly you can copy most of the answers straight out of the textbook, but I'd recommend playing some kind of memory game with it instead (like write your answer, then check the text.)
This one is due Tues, Feb 6.
Worksheet #6: The Dot
Worksheet #6: The Dot is all about the little dot that we add to some notes to modify their rhythmic value. This is covered in Chapter 7 of our theory text.
This one will ALSO be due on Tues, Feb 6, because we gotta motor and get things done.
